Composition

Each ml contains:

Ivermectin BP 10 mg

Indications

Acimec 1% (Vet) Injection is indicated for the treatment and control of the following internal and external parasites of cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goat and horse.

Internal parasites
Gastrointestinal roundworms:

Ostertagia, Haemonchus, Strongylus, Trichos- trongylus, Metastrongylous, Strongyloides, Cooperia, Oesophagostomum, Bunostomum, Nematodirus, Mecistocirrus, Toxocara, Oxyuris, Parascaris, Ancylostoma spp. etc.

Lung worms: Dictyocaulus viviparous, Dictyo- trongylus rufescens.

External Parasites
Fly: Hypoderma bovis, H. Lineatum, Crysomya bovis

Sucking lice: Linognathus vituli, Haematopinus eurysternus, Solenopotes capillatus.

Biting Lice: Damalinia.

Mange mites: Psoroptes sp, Sarcoptes spp, Choriioptes, Demodex, Otodectes, Notoedres.

Tick: Boophilus spp, Ixodes spp, Hyloma spp. Acimec 1% (Vet) injection is also indicated for treatment and control of humpsore (Stephanofilaria assamensis) in cattle.

Dosage and administration

Acimec 1% (Vet) injection should be injected only by subcutaneous route. 

Ruminant: 1 ml/50 kg body weight, Single injec- tion. In case of humpsore the dose may be repeated after 28 days.

Dog:  0.5 ml/25 kg body weight. In the treat- ment of mange, the dosage should be as follows-

Otodectic mange: Single injection.
Sarcoptic mange: 2 injections at a 14days interval.
Demodectic mange and fleas: 3 Injections at a 7 days interval.
Cat: 0.5 ml/25 kg body weight, Single injection.
Horse: 1 ml/50 kg body weight, Single injection.

Or as directed by the registered veterinary physician.

Side effects

Transitory discomfort has been observed in some animals followings SC administration. A low incidence of tissue swelling at the injection site has been observed.

Withdrawal period

Meat 21 days, milk 28 days.

Antiworm (vet) Bolus

Composition

Each bolus Contains:

Levamisole Hydrochloride BP 600 mg
Triclabendazole INN 900 mg

Mode of Action

Triclabendazole acts on parasites by interfering with their energy-generating metabolism. It is inhibi- tors of fumerate reductase. Blockage of the fumerate reductase step form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). In the absence of usable energy, the parasite dies. Levamisole Hydrochloride has a paralyzing action on nematodes. Levamisole acts as a ganglion stimulant (cholinomimetric). Levamisole induced contractions of parasites are blocked by the autonomic ganglion blocking agents’ meca- mylamine and pempidine.

Indications

Antiworm bolus is effective against both Prevention and Treatment for the following parasites & diseases

1. Liver Flukes – F hepatica & F gigantica
2. Gastro-Intestinal Nematodes-

a) Haemonchus spp
b) Ostertagia spp
c) Cuperia spp
d) Trichostrongylus spp
e) Bunostomum spp
f) Oesophagostomum spp
g) Dictyocaulus spp

Contraindication

Basically no contraindication has been described.

Prescribing Information

Nitroxynil® (Vet) Injection

Composition

Each ml solution contains Nitroxynil BP 250 mg.

Indications

Nitroxynil® (vet) Injection is indicated for the treatment of fascioliasis (infestation of both mature & immature fasciola) in cattle and sheep. It is also effective at the recommended dose rate against adult and larval stages of Haemonchus contortus in cattle & sheep and Haemonchus placei, Oesophagostomum radiatum and Bunostomum phlebotomum in cattle.

Dosage & Administration

Cattle, Buffalo, Goat & Sheep: 10 mg per kg of body weight, equivalent to 1 ml per 25 kg of body weight subcutaneously. In case of acute fascioliasis (immature flukes), increase the dose to 1.3 ml per 25 kg of body weight.
In case of massive infestation, repeat, if necessary after 3 weeks.
Or as directed by the veterinary physician.

Precaution

Dairy cows should be treated at drying off (at least 30 days before calving)
As Nitroxynil passed in milk, it is better avoiding it in lactating cows.
Ewes in advanced pregnancy should be driven,handled and dosed carefully.

Contraindications

Do not use in aminal with known hypersensitivity to nitroxynil.
Injection should not be mixed with any other preparation.

Side effects

No systemic ill-effects are to be expected when animals (including pregnant cows and ewes) are treated at normal dosage. It is four times safer than therapeutic dose . In case of any reaction or acci- dental over dosage ,dextrose saline should be administrated intravenously. Keep the animal in a cool and dry place.
